Swim Meet

Tonight Kate had her first swim meet. She has been waiting for a while to swim in a meet. When she went out for swimming we knew that her first two meets would fall during Emi's regional and state volleyball, but when the third was canceled due to weather she was pretty bummed. It is already a very short season and this made it even shorter for her. But I'm guessing it was worth the wait and all those weeks of practice because she did great in her meet tonight. In her very first race she won first place in her heat. Even with a mixup in her second race, she was still able to swim a strong time. And then she contributed significantly to both of her relay races. Even though it was long and humid, it was fun watching her do so well. Jason and I were both little shocked because we didn't know how good she was going to be.
