On the morning of her birthday, after she was smothered by birthday kisses and hugs from everyone, I took her out to the living room to open her presents. As soon as she saw her presents on the dining room table she said, "Mine presents. Down. Now." She knew those were for her, and she wanted at them. For the most part, she didn't even really care what was in them, she just loved the unwrapping. With the exception of her stuffed pig (which she jumped up and down about and hugged), after something was unwrapped, she immediately headed off to get them next one. We could have probably wrapped 10 or so empty boxes and she would have been just as happy :)
Kinlee got a stuffed pig, some books, some plastic farm animals, a barbie, a new blanket and a power wheels 4 wheeler so that she could cruise around the house with Dallin.
We didn't have any big plans for the day because Jason needed to work on sprinklers for the backyard so Katelyn and Jacob and Dallin entertained Kinlee by dressing her up as a princess while I baked and decorated her cake. After lunch, she took her usual 3 hour nap...even birthday girls need their nap.
We had pizza for dinner, and then had Grandma & Grandpa and aunts over for cake and ice cream and more present unwrapping. The karaoke machine and the Frozen soundtrack were the hit of the night (as were the bubbles she got). All of the kids took turns belting out songs, and the soundtrack has been on repeat pretty much ever since.
Even though it wasn't anything extravagant or too much different than a normal day at our house...except for the ice cream and cake and presents and balloons and picture displays...I hope she realized how happy we are to have her in our family.
She is such a fun, spunky little girl. She will talk your leg off and can be quite demanding. Right now one of her most often used words is "now". If you aren't moving or getting something fast enough, she will let you know! It's a good thing she's cute.
Her favorite shows are Dora and Peppa Pig
Her favorite dinner is probably Macaroni and Tomato Juice
Her favorite snack is Cheetos Puffcorn
She still loves to drink warm milk from a bottle, she still has a binky at nap and bedtime, and she still twirls her hair into huge knots.
She has her older sister and brother wrapped around her finger.
She is pretty much Dallin's equal when it comes to getting into mischief but not quite as stubborn.....yet!
She loves to read stories and wrap babies in blankets to carry around.
She LOVES to be outside, which is why we have had to childproof all of our doors. If they weren't, she would be out the door and long gone before I could get to her.
Her favorite people in the world are her Dad, Grandma and Grandpa Bischoff, and Grandma and Grandpa Reasch. She likes me too because I am around, but they really are her favorites, and it's who she talks about all day.
She can hear Grandpa start his 6-wheeler from our yard and will chase him down for a ride. She doesn't even bother to ask. She just runs right up and waits for Grandpa to lift her up.
She is very particular about her bedtime routine. She has to have her bottle and her binky (which she gets from her bunny), her bunny, her bear, her pig, and sometimes Elmo. Then you have to cover her up with blankets and poke her nose. It's something Jason started a long time ago and is now expected...Jason forgot to do it tonight and after about 10-15 minutes or so of being in bed, she started to cry. When Jason went into her room, she said "Nose". There have even been a couple of times before when I've had to poke all of her stuffed animals' nose's too. :)
She loves going to nursery! When sacrament meeting is beginning to wind down, it's hard to keep her still and quiet because she knows she gets to go to nursery. She always dives into the leaders arms and gives her a big hug then waves bye to Jason.. It's such a welcomed change from our last two nursery boycotts :) When we drive down main street, she'll point out the window and say, "my church".
She can say pretty much anything now. She'll repeat what I say, and for the most part she can communicate what she wants, but my favorite thing is when she spouts of sentences of jibber jabber to people like she is really saying something to them. Just today my visiting teachers were over, and I guess she wanted to gab too because she just started making sounds a million miles an hour and then would throw her head back laughing at the end. They egged her on by saying "Oh really?" and laughing with her so she just kept it up. I've always wondered what goes on in their heads when they are doing this, but I think it is just about the cutest thing ever.
She is quite the drama queen. She can turn on the tears in an instant, and lately she has this thing where she pulls her bottom lip down and out to really amp up the dramatic effect. It never works because it is so funny looking that I always end up laughing instead of giving out the sympathy she was looking for.
She keeps me busy. I go to bed exhausted because of her. Sometimes I think she is as much work as 6 kids all rolled into one or she was meant to be born into a family with more than one mom, but I love her. And I can't (and don't want to) remember what life was like without her. She makes our home a happy place and reminds us of our Heavenly Father's love and plan. We are all so grateful that Kinlee chose to come to our family 2 years ago. Happy Birthday Kinlee Roo!
Jacob is a gift giver. The night before her birthday he put together a little something for her. He wrote her a note.
And colored her a Dora picture
And gave her a sweater (turkey sweater bear's sweater to be exact) for her pig to wear :)
She loved it!
After seeing how much Kinlee loved Jacob's present, Katelyn and Dallin decided they wanted to join in on the gift giving. Katelyn wrapped up some of her Fairy barbies she no longer plays with...
and Dallin wrapped up the Dora doll that has been in our family since Katelyn was 2 :)
She loved both of those gifts as well. :)
