Pumpkin Carving

This year we spent Halloween in Casper in a motel at state volleyball. The kids were kind of bummed to be missing out on all the festivities back home, but they got to have fun swimming and eating endless snacks from the event center concessions. Before we left for Casper, Jason and I put together a little Halloween treasure hunt where they found candy and prizes along with each clue. And we offered to take them trick-or-treating at the mall that night, but they decided they would rather swim than do that...which was fine by me. My favorite part of Halloween is decorating my house for the month, I don't even really like the actual holiday.

We did carve pumpkins the Monday before Halloween for FHE so the kids weren't totally deprived of Halloween hoopla.  We (meaning Jason) grew the pumpkins in our garden.  It's our second year of carving our own harvest, and it makes it that much more fun.
