Dallin was perfectly happy to stay 3 years old until he realized that turning 4 meant presents and cake and a party...then he was all for it.
The day started early for everyone. Jason had to open and close by himself (which pretty much means a 7am-7pm work day for him), so we decided to do presents before he left for work. Dallin was a little groggy at first, but then woke right up when he saw the pile of presents and knew they were all for him.
After dinner, it was time for the party. A party at the Bischoff house means Grandmas and Grandpas and aunts come over, a couple more presents to unwrap, cake and candles, and visiting, That's as festive as we get, but you never hear any complaints.
I love his face in these pictures
Dallin had a basketball cake last year and that's what he wanted again this year. I'm wondering if he thinks that's what he's supposed to have :)
Somethings about Dallin at 4
-he loves cars, tractors, trucks, trains, and anything else with wheels and we have the toy closet to prove it.
-his favorite shows are Max & Ruby, Dora, and Diego (which he pronounces Jago)
-he loves to sing. His favorite song is Book of Mormon stories, but he also loves a child's prayer (his voice on that one brings tears to my eyes), call me maybe, and what makes you beautiful (quite the combination I know)
-he loves the Piano Guys. he listens to their CD every night to fall asleep.
-if you ask for a kiss he will tell you he's "all out of em" then you have to wait until he gets some more...sometimes it takes a drink of pop to get more, sometimes its a certain length of time before he's stocked up, but when he gets them, he remembers and gives them out to the people who asked :)
-he has to warm all of his food in the milky wave (microwave) cookies, cake, muffins etc. He refuses to eat anything cold or even room temperature for that matter.
-he eats like a horse. he'll have 2 yogurts after we get home from taking the kids to school, then he'll have a bowl of chili or chicken noodle soup for brunch, then whatever he didn't have for brunch he'll have for lunch, before we get the kids from school he'll eat 2 or 3 cheese sticks, then he'll eat whatever the kids are having for an after school snack, a yogurt or a cheese stick or both for an appetizer and then finally dinner, usually followed by a snack before bed (it really makes me nervous for the teenage years :))
-he is a big time fibber. he makes up stories all the time about his "friends" and the crazy things they did or said with him. he loves to take credit for things that he didn't do...the naughtier the better :)
-he loves to say the prayers, but its hard to hear him because he mumbles the whole thing
-his favorite books are the Llama Llama series
-he loves his baby sister Kinlee, its a rough love and sometimes painful for her, but he loves her with all his heart. my favorite is when we go in to get her up from her nap, he talks in a really high pitched voice "Well, good morning baby girl!"
-he is a go-bug. if anyone is going anywhere for whatever reason, he wants to tag along...even if its just outside to the garbage.
-he hates shirts for bedtime and undies for daytime
-he has no patience, ZERO, when he asks for something or wants something, he wants it 5 minutes ago and lets it be known to all
-he loves sunbeams...now. I wasn't sure we were ever going to see the day for him, But after lots of love and hard work from a diligent teacher, he marches off to class each week by himself, participates and has a good time. He's even able to tell us what he learns about!
Even though I give Dallin a bad rap and refer to him as a turkey or a destructive force of nature more than not, he really is a sweet boy. He has the cutest curly hair, the most beautiful blue eyes, the smoothest kissable cheeks, a smile that can melt your heart, and laugh that makes you do the same. During the day he tests my patience, but at night when I lay down in bed with him (per his request), all I can do is thank my Heavenly Father for allowing me to be his mom. I am so glad he was sent to our family 4 years ago. We love you Dall-a-wooski!
